Department AIVT - one of the oldest graduating special departments at the university. It was founded in 1971 by the famous Ukrainian Doctor of Science, Professor V. Malikov. Over the years, the department prepared more than 1,500 engineers in the field of automation and computerized management systems, 6 Doctors of Science, published more than 700 scientific publications and inventions, more than 50 books, monographs and textbooks.
It was in the chair AIVT where started their activities in the Institute both of the two heads: former I.V. Kuzmin and current B.I. Mokin and current director of AEKSU Institute A.S. Vasyura, heads of VNTU departments M.A. Filinyuk, V.O,Podzharenko, V.N. Dubovoy, V.V. Kuharchuk.
Since 1993, the department is headed by a doctor of technical sciences, professor, academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy, a member of the Russian Academy of Communication and Information, a senior member of the World Society of Electronics Engineers and Electrical Engineering (Senior Member IEEE) Kvyetnyy Roman Naumovich.
Graduates of the department working:
- in research and design organizations, medical, commercial and banking institutions, industrial production, related to the use and development of management systems and devices;
- in development and introduction of modern computer technology and software organizations;
- in the banking and financial institution engaged in investment and asset management in global financial markets.
At the present, the demand for the specialists in computer systems is constantly growing. Automation and computer systems today is the basis for effective management in organizational and research activities, technological processes, in almost all fields of industry, agriculture, trade and so on. Without such systems a modern production can not be build and business can not be developed. Therefore, experts who are prepared at the department can work for any business and institutions. Indeed "Management and Automation Systems" speciality is considered to be the most universal.
The educational process and research work are supported by the computing centre of several computer classes and laboratories equipped with modern electronics and information transfer technology, microprocessors, management systems and automation components and devices. The department training is closely associated with the activities of well-known companies in Ukraine, which are chaired by the Department inmates: INNOVINN (PhD Y.A.Skydan, PhD O.Y. Skydan) "Team" (P.L. Melnychuk), Trade and Industry Hall (O.M. Didyk) and others.
The department has extensive international connections. Its students work and continue their education in the United States, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel and others. The department maintains relations with the world famous computer firms Microsoft, Sky It Group, SmartExe, Netserity. Cooperation with British University after J. Moors in Liverpool is established, where 3 department alumni defended their PhD dissertations.
The Department's collaborators are highly qualified, experienced professionals including 3 academicians, 3 professors, 9 associate professors: Director of the Institute, professor, academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy, Honoured Worker of Ukrainean Education, PhD A.S. Vasura; experienced teachers and scientists: Professor, Ph.D. Y.A.Skydan; associate professors, PhDs: S.M. Dovgalets, A.J. Kulik, V.M. Papinov, S.G. Kryvohubchenko, M.M. Kompanets, V.U.
